“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make” – Jane Goodall.
This is so true and yet most of us do not stop to think, we are too busy with what we do with little or no thought or planning… Having a framework to your life, a conscious intention and purpose will help ensure that you make decisions that are inline with your plan. You need direction. Values. Have you ever stopped and written down what is important to you? Living on purpose is an active decision… and making a difference in the lives of others is a very active thing. We encourage you to take time. To examine how you can add value today. Small or big. Of course this starts with your very own family, then your friends and then those that you come across in your daily walk. As the days add up you become aware of a glorious, warm peace and joy that sits deep within. The more value you add the more you can. These are the unforced rhythms of grace and life.
For this, there is no qualification. This is for everyone.
And then there are those that inspire us by their strong example. Their self-discipline and humble lives. Never looking for recognition, always part of a bigger picture. Loving what they do and devoted to a life of giving. It is through this example that we are not always conscious, of the influence we have on others.
I am lucky enough to work among some of those people.
I can truly say that Knysna Sedgefield Hospice, walk the walk! Thank-you for your example. Our town is a richer place for it.
What value can you add today?
