Cohsasa’s Mission (The Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa)
Assist healthcare facilities in developing countries to deliver quality care to their clients through sustained improvement, using internationally recognised standards and based on patient safety principles and operational research.
Knysna Sedgefield Hospice celebrates the achievement of its 5th Cohsasa (The Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa) for (May 2023 – May 2027) with a Clinical Services rating of 100%. Accreditation is reviewed every four years. This allows us to keep our 5 star rating with APCC (Association of Palliative Care Centers of South Africa).
Having this accreditation means that our hospice is providing palliative care at a standard consistent with a predetermined expectation set by a competent authority, guaranteeing that structures are in place, performance of processes are reliable, and outcomes are measurable.
