At the door on the evening
Knysna welcomes an excellent traditional Big Band style Jazz and Contemporary music performance outfit! Showcasing instrumental soloists and vocalists. Made up of a rhythm section (piano, bass, rhythm guitar, drums and auxiliary percussion) combined with the top players from among the school’s Trumpeters, Trombonists, and Saxophonists. Three members (a trombonist a French Hornist and a Trumpeter) were accepted into the Stellenbosch international Chamber music festival in July. The main drummer has also just won second prize in the SASMT Contemporary music competition. The first trombonist has been awarded his full schooling scholarship by Vincent Mai in the USA, who is the same person who put Siya Kolisi through school.Two members performed Concertos with the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra on June 21. Performance kindly in aid of Knysna Sedgefield Hospice. No charge for scholars.
