Nights of 1000 Pictures 2010
On 7th and 8th July, 2010 the Hospice Nights of a Thousand Pictures was once again held at the Premier Hotel. This year was slightly different with Wednesday night bringing many keen artists and buyers to the Auction of 27 paintings all generously donated by well known artists including Gordon Legge, Dale and Mel Elliott, Malachi and Dallas Smith, Sally Bekker, Bruce Backhouse, Peter Barrett, Brian Rippon, Margaret Bolt and others. The prices were attractive and many hesitant buyers rushed to register for the bidding and went home delighted with their purchases.

Many thanks to Hilton Teague for his time and expertise as the auctioneer.

Having had an opportunity to preview the paintings on the auction evening, there was an enthusiastic queue waiting from 3pm for a chance to buy their special painting or photo for R100.

Those waiting in the queue were offered hot gluwein to keep up their strength.

The atmosphere on both nights was enhanced by Boy Krige’s beautiful jazz piano music.

Many thanks to the willing donors of the paintings, all who bought and a special thanks to the Premier Hotel and the undaunted Local Events Team.

WELL DONE!!!
