Knysna Sedgefield Hospice

The days play started after a slight delay as two players 'forgot' but fortunately we had some reserve players who were called on to fill the gaps. Play got underway under the superbly efficient guidance of Linda Bircher who managed to explain the intricate rules and regulations of duplicate bridge.

A delicious tea was served mid-morning and play continued calmly. It was less calm in the kitchen where the ladies preparing the lunch for 112 players had a rather frenetic time getting the meal ready.

The 'Thai Chicken Curry went down a treat and the 'Self-saucing Lemon puddings' were yummy.

The day was rounded off with the winners of the Bridge, Lindsay Durham and Michael Stapleton receiving prizes. Numerous 'Lucky Draw' prizes were won by delighted lucky ticket holders and, last but not least, the raffle winners were drawn. It was a lucky day for Brian Robinson who won the River Bend Country Lodge voucher and Helen Jacoby received the Elephant Hide of Knysna prize. We congratulate all the winners and we thank all the wonderful sponsors and players who helped to make the day so enjoyable.
