Many readers will have noticed adverts and posters announcing The Big Hospice Treasure Hunt. What does this mean? Over the next few months Hospice is encouraging you to hunt down all your gently, but no longer used, home and garden treasures and donate them to Hospice in aid of their second Spring ‘Maison Market’ (House Goods Market) to be held on the 29 and 30 September 2017. Items needed include furniture, ornaments, vases, lamps, artwork, frames, soft furnishings, carpets, tableware, crockery, baskets, kitchenware, linen, craft items, garden pots and ornaments, Christmas decorations, fabrics, beads, buttons, wool, ribbon, stationary, jewellery, accessories, classy vintage clothing……

The Knysna/Sedgefield Hospice currently provides palliative care for ±250 patients requiring about 3500 visits per month, making the organisation a vital part of our community. While Hospice already runs 2 successful charity shops in Knysna and Sedgefield, it is felt that there is a place for a more trendy ‘maison market’ similar to the ‘house goods markets’ that are so popular in France. Already, several big items such as a sleeper couch and a quarter size billiard table have been donated, together with smaller items in the form of beautiful glassware and crockery. Shop owners and interior decorators are encouraged to come forward and donate items towards the market so that a truly eclectic mix of wares will be on sale. The ‘maison market’ promises to be an exciting ‘must’ for all homeware, garden and bargain hunters and enthusiasts out there.

    The Market Venue: Ambleridge Hall

Pam Golding Properties is proudly sponsoring the Hospice Treasure Hunt for the ‘maison market’ and has kindly offered their premises on Leisure Isle to be used as a drop off point for all donated items. Alternatively, you can call 0834481934 to have your goods collected.
